The Denver Broncos can officially start planning on their first official opponent of the 2014 NFL season, and it’s a familiar foe. Denver will open the gates at Sports Authority Field at Mile High to the Seattle Seahawks, the Broncos’ version of Voldemort, to kick off the 2014 pre-season.

Seattle or, the ‘team who must not be named’, will come to Denver in the first week of the pre-season, followed by a road trip to San Francisco to play the 49ers. The Broncos then will return home to play Houston in the third pre-season game, also the game where we’ll probably get the closest look at the regular season Broncos, and the pre-season capped off by taking on the Dallas Cowboys. Here is what the schedule officially looks like.

Week 1: vs. Seattle Seahawks — Aug. 7-10, time TBD (KUSA-TV)
Week 2: at San Francisco 49ers — Aug. 14-18, time TBD (KUSA-TV)
Week 3: vs. Houston Texans — Aug. 21-24, time TBD (KUSA-TV)
Week 4: at Dallas Cowboys — Aug. 28, time TBD (KUSA-TV)

You have to figure at least one or two Broncos pre-season games will be nationally televised, and you’d certainly think it would be the game against Seattle.

The Broncos have played 36 pre-season games against the 49ers, the most of any team in the NFL. So, believe it or not, four months from now we’ll have the Broncos back on the field.
