While I was busy hating his guts from 1998-2010 because of how good he was and how the Broncos could never beat him, I missed out on what an amazing person Peyton Manning is, and how close he pays attention to detail.

According to the Broncos’ newest wide receiver, the first person to reach out to him after he was signed was the NFL’s MVP.

Manning is such an impressive individual on a variety of levels. I don’t mean to gush on him or anything like that but this is a critical aspect to the appeal of the Denver Broncos. John Elway has a ton of pull in the Broncos’ front office, and has proven his ability to reel in top free agents over the last couple of years, but valuing new teammates is a huge aspect of what Manning does.

It didn’t end with a text. Manning apparently also invited Sanders to come to his throwing sessions at Duke this offseason with Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Julius Thomas, and Andre Caldwell.

Sanders is expected to have a huge role with the Broncos in 2014, and one of the major reasons he came to Denver was because of Peyton Manning. I sincerely hope Brock Osweiler is learning all that he can about Manning’s habits, both on and off the field.
