The NFL playoffs are near. While the Broncos have already clinched a playoff spot at 11-3, they have the same record as division rival Kansas City, who would love nothing more than to take the top spot in the AFC West hoping for another Broncos upset this week or next, but Denver will have something to say about it.

Despite the fact that Denver is playing the league’s worst team on Sunday in Houston, the Broncos have a lot to play for this week, and if things go their way, they can do a lot of damage by starting off the day with a ‘W.’

Here are some clinching scenarios for the Broncos on Sunday.

With a Win and Kansas City Loss (vs. IND)

In this scenario, the Broncos would clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Obviously this is the ideal scenario for the Broncos today and is not unrealistic at all.

So, as far as seeding goes, the Broncos are rooting for both the Colts and the Ravens today, as well as needing desperately to take care of their own business. The Texans may be down, but they’re not out and there are a lot of guys playing for jobs. They are also playing on their home field. The Broncos should win today’s game easily, but coming up with a win is what’s most important. If they do that, they control their own destiny.
