The last time the Denver Broncos played the San Diego Chargers in San Diego, we all know what happened on that emotional Monday night. The Broncos came back from 24-0 down at halftime to win 35-24.
“That was one of my favorite games of all-time,” tight end Joel Dreessen said. “It was just such a fun, fun half to come back and be a part of. That was so cool because we didn’t lose a game the rest of the season until the playoffs. Looking to do the same thing this year—and not lose in the playoffs.”
With three former Chargers (Shaun Phillips, Louis Vasquez, and Quentin Jammer) on the current roster, the teams had some fun watching last year’s game tape with them.
“I asked Shaun Phillips once, I was like, ‘Man, what did you guys think when we came back from 24 points down?’ He was like, ‘Man, there was nothing we could do. What do you mean what did we think?’” Dreessen said.
There has to be some kind of carry over from last year’s game. When a team goes back to the same stadium, confidence levels must sit high. Yes, the Chargers have a new coach and they’ve made roster changes, but if last year is any indication of what’s to come, then we’re all in for a fun afternoon.
