Deep in the bowels of NFL headquarters in New York City, fines are levied for everything from illegal hits to uniform violations on a weekly basis.

When it comes to illegal hits, plays are reviewed time and time again by multiple people to determine whether the hit was in fact illegal and whether it was intentional.

This week, second year Denver Broncos’ safety Rahim Moore was hit with a $21,000 fine for an illegal hit to head and neck of Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders. The play happened in the fourth quarter.

Remember, the fine money collected by the NFL is donated to charity, so players are able to write it off on their taxes.
