Broncos’ RB Knowshon Moreno Arrested For DUI

With the No. 12 overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos didn’t make out like a bandit. Instead they picked up an injury/fumble prone running back who has now just dug himself a deeper hole.
Knowshon Moreno was arrested for driving under the influence last week. The Broncos issued a statement Monday evening.
"“We take the incident involving Knowshon Moreno very seriously, and are thoroughly reviewing this matter,” the statement read. “Our organization will continue to gather information and closely monitor this issue while the legal process takes it course.” – Denver Post"
Moreno was driving 70 MPH in a 45 MPH construction zone on I-25 in Denver (speed limit is normally 65 MPH). The police officer gave Moreno a field sobriety test and a breath test before taking him to a detox facility.
Moreno tore his ACL in November during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and has been rehabbing from surgery since. Before the injury, he was averaging 25.6 yards per game as a backup to Willis McGahee.
Moreno is scheduled to appear in court on March 2. Ironically, the license plate on his car reportedly reads “SAUCED.”
The back out of Georgia is entering the fourth year of his five year rookie contract. It’s very likely the Broncos will part ways with the one-time highly anticipated draft pick since he’s been more trouble than touchdown.
