The 5-4 New York Jets are heading west for a Thursday night inter-conference contest against the 4-5 Denver Broncos. The Jets are coming of a 37-16 loss to the New England Patriots, while the Broncos are four days removed from a 17-10 victory in Kansas City. Once again, a much talked about story line for this game will be the Denver Bronco offense and quarterback Tim Tebow. Rex Ryan will be the fifth NFL coach in the 2011 season that gets an opportunity to put his defense up against the run-oriented Bronco offense lead by Tebow. The Broncos offense, currently ranked 22nd overall in the NFL, is ranked second in rushing yards per game (158.2). The New York Jets defense is allowing 116.0 rushing yards per game, which ranks them 15th in the league. Overall, the Jets defense is ranked 8th in the league. I am waiting anxiously to see the game plan Bronco Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy has created for this week’s game. I don’t think the run-heavy attack will work two weeks in a row, but if I am honest, a week ago I would have said that it wouldn’t work for one game. Thankfully, the Broncos proved me wrong. Enjoy the game – what a great way to end the work week! Please continue reading for additional gameday specific information.
