Happy Birthday, Denver Broncos And Tim Tebow!

It was fifty-two years ago today that a minor league baseball owner by the name of Bob Howsam was given a charter franchise in the newly created American Football League.  After being given the team name via a fan contest, the Denver Broncos defeated the then named Boston Patriots 13-10 in the very first AFL game on September 9, 1960.  Since then, the Broncos have earned ten division championships and six conference championships.  They were also triumphant in back-to-back league championships, winning Super Bowl XXXII in 1997 and Super Bowl XXXIII in 1998.

It was also twenty-four years ago today that a young man that has sparked so many different emotions among those that eat, sleep, and breathe the sport of football was born in the city of Makati in the Philippines in Southeast Asia.  The son of a Baptist missionary pastor, Tim Tebow has generated much love, as well as much censure, from both fans and critics alike since first stepping on the gridiron.

Happy Birthday to both the Denver Broncos organization and to their quarterback Tim Tebow!  Is it a coincidence that these two share a birth date, or is it destiny?
