With March Madness upon us, EA Sports seems to have caught bracket fever. The gaming company has put together a fully seeded 32-player bracket, the likes of which the NCAA Tournament Committee would be proud of. The EA Sports bracket will be used to determine who will be on the cover of Madden ’12. Each team has a representative, and fans will be able to vote to decide who will go on to Madden cover glory. The Denver Broncos will be represented by Tim Tebow.
Tebow will go into the bracket with the # 11 seed. To me, this seems a bit low considering the notoriety that the former Florida Gator has on a nation level. In the first round, Tebow will have to face an AFC West rival right off the bat in Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles. If all of the fans who helped to make Tebows jersey one of the top sellers this last season have anything to say about it, it should be smooth sailing into the second round, where he would face another tough matchup.
In the second round, we could see a fight for Florida with a battle between Pocket Hercules, Maurice Jones-Drew and their beloved former college football Heisman winner. Tebow is a nationally recognizable personality, but he may have no larger fan base than in Jacksonville, FL. Jones-Drew on the other hand is probably the best player on the Jacksonville Jaguars, and maybe in all of the NFL teams found in Florida.
You may think that there is no way that this bracket could become any more epic, but you would be wrong. If Tebow makes it to the third round, he could face former Broncos and current Cleveland Browns RB Peyton Hillis. Hillis was a fan favorite amongst Broncos fans during his time in Denver, and with the oportunity to start in Cleveland, he became a punishing runner whose reputation could have him flexing for Madden. It could prove to be a tough matchup, but if there is one thing we know about Tebow, it’s that he wins.
Unlike the NCAA Basketball Tournament brackets, you do have control over what the end results will be. All you have to do to lead Tebow to the Madden promise land is to vote! From the feverish Tebow fans in Florida, to all of his supporters who made his NFL jersey a top seller in his rookie year, I ask you to unite! From the Gator Nation to the hordes of blue and orange in Broncos Country, lets show our support and make it TEBOW in 2012!
