Well, I’m here in San Francisco. Nike is really putting on a great event this weekend. Things get going tomorrow when we take a tour of “The Zoo” in Oakland and get a briefing on some new athletic training footwear. After that, we get to change into the new gear and participate in SPARQ testing (measures sport specific athleticism). Yes, I’ll be timed in the 40 yard dash and a shuttle run, and have my vertical leap tested.
I hear Al Davis will be on hand to sign the fastest journalist to a big time contract. (wink, wink).
After our testing, we’ll get the chance to interview the Nike Athletes on hand. Nnamdi Asomugha, OJ Atogwe, Darrelle Revis, and of course Tim Tebow will be there. I was told that other athletes would be in attendance as well. Don’t forget to leave any questions you want me to ask the athletes in the comment section below.
I am so excited to take part in this event, and even feel like I snuck my way on to this scene. I was picked up from the airport by a Nike driver in a Lincoln town car, driven to a nice hotel where they had lunch and a lavender soaked towel waiting for me, and now I get to meet a handful of the top players in the NFL. What a dream come true!
