Straight From the Source: Broncos’ Talk

Lately, the talk around Denver has sounded like this:

“I just take what’s really coming, and it’s not that they don’t want me here, but I don’t think it’s the best fit for me…It’s not for me. I can easily say that now. I wouldn’t say it until the end of the season, but it’s not for me.” – Javon Walker (Denver Post).

P.O.’s solution: The Broncos have a strong core of receivers like Brandon Marshall and Brandon Stokley. There are many young receivers such as Minnesota’s Troy Williamson and New England’s Chad Jackson that Jay Cutler would love to have as a target.

“It is time for me to move on…I am completely sure this is the right thing to do…Mike (Shanahan) would call me out for not playing very well, and I had to agree with him. I’d say, ‘You’re right, I’m playing like crap.’ I didn’t want to go make all that money and not give the team what I was supposed to.” –Matt Lepsis on retiring (Denver Post). 

P.O.’s opinion: Lepsis did a lot during his 11 year stint with the Broncos and we appreciate him for stepping aside at the right time.

“I think I’ve played well here, and sometimes these things get extended near the end of the deal, so we’ll see what happens. But I think I’m playing at a high level, and that is the most important thing when it comes to contract talks.” –Champ Bailey on getting a bigger contract
