Tribute to Fallen Teammates: Broncos Win

How about that huge win in Denver last night? The night was dedicated to former Broncos players, Darrent Williams and Damien Nash who were both killed in separate accidents last winter. It was evident that the Broncos were playing for someone.

I’ll take the Broncos relying on Jason Elam at the end of the game any time. Denver fans calling into the local radio stations this morning were also happy with the win, but said that they were tired of having to rely on Elam’s kicks. Well, I have a problem with the opinions of these fans because it was Jay Cutler (22-29, 248 yards, and 3 TDs) and our defense (caused 3 turnovers) that got us into a position to win a game against a very tough team. I agree with Mike Rice

After the game, Elam said, “we want to do this whole Rockies thing, 21 out of 22, that works for us.” That works for me too.

With Champ Bailey (thigh) not playing last night the Broncos were certainly the underdogs just like the Rockies were going into the playoffs. They went into the bye week with their worst home loss in over 40 years, and then let the Steelers score on their first possession of the game. Even though the Steelers had only allowed 5 TDs this season, the Broncos offense handled their business with confidence.

Some notes:

Key injuries from last night’s game include Dre’ Bly (right shoulder) and Travis Henry (bruised ribs). Bly finished the game and Henry’s status for next week will not be known until later in the week.

Find out what coach, Mike Shanahan has to say about last night’s win: Mason’s Morsels.

By now, we all know that former Bronco QB, Jake Plummer, plays handball; But just how obsessed is he with Tiny Blue Balls?
