San Diego Chargers and Denver Crowd Upset the Broncos

As promised, I will dedicate this to the San Diego Chargers for their win yesterday:

Hail to the San Diego Chargers for figuring out how to utterly embarrass the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium yesterday. It looks like all the Chargers had to do to turn their season around was play a Bronco team that cannot stop the run. The Broncos even let Chargers QB Philip Rivers score his first rushing touchdown of his career. Then 11 seconds later the Chargers scored their second touchdown of the game capitalizing on a Denver fumble.

I think I’ll stop making predictions about the outcome of Broncos games this season. It’s obvious that no one knows which Bronco team will show up to play. Yesterdays 41-3 loss was the Denver Broncos worst home loss since 1966. As the Broncos brought back the alumni cheerleaders to perform at halftime, the crowd was wishing for players from the 1998 and 1999 Superbowl teams to make an appearance in the second half.

With most of the fans leaving before the start of the fourth quarter, Broncos WR Brandon Marshall was not pleased. In a post game interview he told fans, “Don’t boo us when we’re down. That’s bandwagon…I love you all to death, but at the same time, that’s not first class.”

Well, when fans pay at least $50 per ticket and brave the cold wet weather, we expect our team to put up a fight. At least the city still has the Rockies.

Congratulations to the Chargers for pulling out a big win. Maybe they deserve to be the top team in the AFC West.
