Travis Henry was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2001 draft. (Fox News)

The Denver Broncos have had a laundry list of rotating running backs over the last decade. Many have come, spent just one season in Denver, and then moved on.

One that is most infamous in recent history is Travis Henry. Henry played just one season for the Broncos in 2007-2008. During that year, he averaged 57.6 yards per game, and had 7 touchdowns in 12 games. He was actually leading the league in rushing after four games that season before being hampered by injuries.

In June of 2008, Mike Shanahan released Henry from the team citing that he wasn’t committed enough to the Broncos. Not long after that, Henry was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Then just a month later, he was arrested for funding a cocaine-trafficing operation. He served a three-year term in prison.

Now that his sentence has come to an end, Henry wants to make a return to the NFL, according to Adam Caplan of Sirius XM Radio.

Henry turns 34 years old in October, and is nine years removed from his best season in the NFL when he was with the Buffalo Bills and averaged 90.4 yards per game.

Henry’s off the field troubles don’t just stem from substance abuse issues. He has fathered eleven children with ten different women, and has ongoing issues with child support payments.

A comeback from Henry would require a complete change in lifestyle, and a full commitment to getting his body back into playing shape.

Henry has played in the NFL for seven seasons with the Bills, Titans, and Broncos. He has 6,086 rushing yards, 38 rushing touchdowns, 951 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, and 16 lost fumbles during his career.

It’s that time of the week again. Here are some Broncos links followed by other interesting links:

- ESPN called the Broncos the least popular sports franchise in Denver. I beg to differ.

- Broncos training camp opens to the public at the end of the month. Here’s the schedule.

- Could Travis Henry get off light on his drug trafficking chargers? It’s possible if he was just the “money guy.”

- It seems like Robert Ayers was a good pick in the draft. He may be starting this year.

- The host of 850 KOA’s game day coverage, Mike Rice, gives us his thoughts on 2009 Broncos so far.

- Adam Schefter says on his Twitter page that the Broncos are listening to offers for Brandon Marshall. It’s written on July 1st at 11:12 AM.

- Eddie Royal spoke at the Rookies Symposium. Here’s a video.

- How about a little Shaq-Gary Coleman history.

- Who is going to win the NBA Championship next year? Odds are with the Lakers and Cavs. Here are the rest of the odds.

- Ever think about being Commissioner for a day? Here are some possible changes to make in the NFL.

- Steve McNair will always be remembered.

- Lance Armstrong got busted for cheating at the Tour de France, but it’s not what you think.

- Not really sports related, but this is funny.

- Thinking about traveling with your favorite team? Give this a read.

- The MLB All-Star Roster is set and the game will be played in St. Louis.

I’m doing something new this week. Along with the Broncos links that I provide on a weekly basis, I’m also going to include other links I find interesting/entertaining. Many will be sports related, and others will be completely random. Here we go with the Broncos links:

- Verdict: The people love Josh McDaniels and Josh McDaniels loves the people. Here’s a video too.

- Jay Cutler and Mike Shanahan will reunite, but not in Denver or Chicago.

- Champ Bailey and Brandon Stokley are showing the young guys a thing or two all while impressing McDaniels.

- The “Train” is back on the field and looking to stay healthy.

- A blogger from ESPN.com makes a case for Knowshon Moreno starting the season in a back-up role.

- Peyton Hillis will make a huge impact for the Broncos this season. The question is at what position?

- Former Bronco, Travis Henry, will remain in jail for another month before his sentencing on drug trafficking charges.

- Rookie CB, Alphonso Smith, is adjusting to life in the NFL by looking to the veterans.

Now for some random links:

- Redskins rookie, Keith Eloi, can jump into the back of an F150 without a running start.

- If you’re looking for a good NBA Mock Draft, Pippen Ain’t Easy has got one.

- Speaking of the NBA, here are some “Dumb NBA Quotes As Told by Photoshop.”

- Throughout the playoffs, I’ve been seeing Kobe make this face way too much.

- Are the Yankees ever going to beat the Red Sox this season? I know I’m depressed about it as well as many other Yankees fans are.

- “Mine That Bird” for dinner? Disgusting!
