To say that Broncos fans are playing the waiting game is an understatement! The Peyton Manning saga is well behind us, Tebow Time has come to an end in the Rocky Mountains, the 2012 schedule has been released, and the draft is over, so now all we’re doing is counting down the days until our weekends are filled with NFL football…. scratch that, we are counting down the days until the weekends are filled with Broncos football. To help get Broncos Country through the TRUE offseason, I will be reviewing some past games against the teams the Broncos will face during the 2012 regular season. First on the docket is the Broncos’ week one opponent – the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A few notes from this morning’s practice:

-The receiving corp. was a little slim today with Brandon Stokley, Brandon Marshall, and Jabar Gaffney sitting out. Champ Bailey sat out as did Wesley Woodyard. I don’t think LaMont Jordan was there either, but his absence wasn’t really noticeable since Knowshon Moreno was participating. Brian Dawkins is of course out with a broken hand.

- Things got a little heated today when center Blake Schlueter and Tim Crowder (I think) threw some punches at eachother after the play was over. Teammates rushed in pretty quickly and things were fine after that. I love the intensity though!

- Josh McDaniels is very confident in kicker Matt Prater as evident by the fact that Prater doesn’t have any competition in camp. However, I don’t think that Prater is as confident in himself as he should be. I think McD needs to work with Prater in camp more. Put him in front of the whole team for a situational pressure kick. He makes it, the team reaps some kind of small reward. He misses, the team does extra sprints after practices.

- Some of the rookies were given haircuts last night. QB Tom Brandstater looked like an old man that was missing his cane.

- Today was my first day seeing Knowshon Moreno in action. His quickness is very impressive and he seems to be adjusting well to what the team has been doing for the past week without him. He did get down on himself a little bit today when he misread his offensive line and got “tackled” close to the line of scrimmage on one play. Here’s a short clip of Moreno:
