The Denver Broncos’ 2013 preseason schedule has been announced. The action begins the week of August 8 when the Broncos play the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area. Next, the Broncos will travel to face the Seattle Seahawks. Then, the team is home against the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals.

Week 1: at San Francisco 49ers — Aug. 8-11 (TBD)
Week 2: at Seattle Seahawks — Aug. 15-19 (TBD)
Week 3: vs. St. Louis Rams — Saturday, Aug. 24, 6 p.m. MDT (Nationally televised on CBS)
Week 4: vs. Arizona Cardinals — Aug. 29 or 30

The NFC West is now a very respectable division, so it will be nice for the Broncos to have some formidable opponents before the regular season kicks off. What’s even better is they play the 49ers and Seahawks when the starters will see most of the action.

This is the 16th straight season that the Broncos have opened preseason play on the road.

San Francisco is Denver’s most common preseason opponent, with this year’s matchup representing the 35th between the two clubs. Arizona is Denver’s second-most common preseason opponent, and the Broncos met the Seahawks as well in the 2011 and 2012 preseasons. This year marks the ninth preseason meeting between the Broncos and Rams — the first since 1998. – DenverBroncos.com

Denver has a 127-114 all-time record in preseason play, and they’ve won at least one game in every season except for one.

The NFL announced Wednesday the preseason schedules for all 32 NFL teams.

The Denver Broncos have quite the lineup ahead of them. First up is a game in Chicago against the Bears sometime in the range of August 9-13. The Broncos will get to see a bunch of former Broncos as they take on Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, and Jeremy Bates.

Sometime between August 16-20, the Broncos will play their preseason home opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

Next up is a nationally televised game against the San Francisco 49ers at Mile High. The game will air on Fox as the Broncos take on one of the league’s best defenses from last season. What a nice little warm-up for Peyton Manning.

The team’s final preseason game will likely be played in Arizona against the Cardinals on August 30. The Cardinals won’t have to drool over a Hall of Fame quarterback that they almost locked in since Manning will likely only play one series in this game.

With all of talk about NFL lockouts and its threat to the 2011 season, it can be difficult to find ways to get motivated for a season that may not exist.  Just when you thought all hope was lost, a guiding light shows through the dark clouds and helps us set our anticipation back on track.

On Tuesday, the league announced the preseason its 2011 preseason schedule.  This helps fans, who have become disenchanted by all of the courtroom talks,  put their focus on the 2011 season, wetting their appitite just weeks before the full season schedule is set to be released.
