Chris Schellcroft of Fansided’s Oakland Raiders blog, JustBlogBaby, answered some questions for me about his Raiders. Chris is without question a Raiders expert, so make sure to check out his blog. Another reason to hit up his site is because I answered some very unorthodox questions about the Broncos. You may have fun coming up with your own answers. For example….

Q: If Lane Kiffin and Josh McDaniels were locked in a room with only a clipboard and a cell phone who would come out alive and why?

A: If you ask Jay Cutler, Josh McDaniels doesn’t know how to use a cell phone, so I give the Survival of the Most Controversial title to Lane Kiffin. Kiffin would leave a note for McDaniels on the clipboard saying “Just won baby” and he would call Tom Cable to come and punch down the door.

It’s always fun to chuckle at the expense of an AFC West opponent. So long as Al Davis sits in Oakland’s big chair, Broncos fans can grab a bucket of popcorn and enjoy the show.

For those of you thinking that the Al Davis/Lane Kiffin drama from a couple of years ago was over, you would be wrong. Kiffin, now the USC coach, talked to ESPN.com and had some not so nice things to say about the Raiders organization. As far as winning goes while Davis is still there, Kiffin says it’s hard to do.

“It is almost impossible,” Kiffin said. “I don’t know why I didn’t listen, [because] so many people told me that. That’s why, if you ask [University of Washington coach Steve Sarkisian], he didn’t go. He had a chance to go. You’re just so far behind other clubs. You’re waiting for [Davis] to wake up and come to work at 2 o’clock in the afternoon to make decisions that the rest of the league is making at 6 o’clock in the morning. You’re still running videotapes over to the hotel so he can watch practice at night.” -Lane Kiffin (ESPN.com)

Al Davis may have said it best, “Just win, baby.” However, like winning can become a habit, so can losing.

Most NFL organizations aren't built the way the Broncos are. How many times do owners well up when releasing a coach? How many owners dedicated Super Bowls won by the team to a player, shifting the focus away from himself? It is difficult to think of any owners beyond Bowlen who are that dedicated to a team.

Bowlen: The Key To Broncos Fan Pride - Predominantly Orange - Predominantly Orange - A Denver Broncos Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

In a press conference following the hiring of current head coach Hue Jackson, Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis spent time discussing the fines he levied against former coach Tom Cable as well as other issues he had. It was eerily reminiscent of Davis’ press conference when he hired Cable after the release of Lane Kiffin, where David took the opportunity to openly air out his issues with Kiffin, focusing on the past instead of the future.

Could any Broncos fan see owner Pat Bowlen doing this? My guess is no.
