Aaron Rodgers had a career day against the Denver Broncos in week four. His 4 touchdown passes, 2 touchdown runs, and 400+ yard passing day surpassed any Brett Favre performance put out on the Lambeau Field.

It just so happened that Rodgers was mic’d up for that game, and the footage is here.

Some random thoughts from the loss to the Packers yesterday (In no particular order):

The Packers outclassed us in almost every way possible over the span of a 60 minute football game. You have to give them credit, there is a reason they are the defending champions, but it was pretty disheartening to see how far away we are right now.

We have some impactful players on our team who can make a difference on the field. The only problem is that they are outnumbered by the impact players on the other team. The talent gap between us and the best is blatantly obvious. That is years and years of bad drafts and personnel decisions rearing its ugly head. Every single decision that Josh McDaniels made seems to haunt us fans every single day. Even the Tim Tebow situation, regardless of where you stand, tries the patience of the fan base on a daily basis, and that is all McDaniels.

Von Miller and Eric Decker are guys to build around for the future. Seeing flashes of brilliance from those young guys was the only reason I watched every play of that game even when it became almost unbearable.

I hate these kinds of posts, but news is news, and analysts all of a sudden think they can peg Tim Tebow with tomatoes before the season begins, so I have to report it.

Boomer Esiason jumped on Merril Hoge’s bandwagon and is now criticizing the second year QB. He told Mike McCarthy of USA Today that Tebow has no business playing quarterback in the NFL.

“He can’t play. He can’tthrow. I’m not here to insult him. The reality is he was a great college football player, maybe the greatest college football player of his time. But he’s not an NFL quarterback right now. Just because he’s God-fearing, and a great person off the field, and was a winner with the team that had the best athletes in college football, doesn’t mean his game is going to translate to the NFL.”

What (former Broncos coach) Josh McDaniels saw in him God only knows. Maybe God does know — because the rest of us don’t.” – Boomer Esiason to USA Today

The low-blows keep coming. Too bad Brett Favre wasn’t around to take some of the QB spotlight away.
