]]> Highly coveted defensive tackle Brandon MeBane has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Denver Broncos were unable to put together a competitive contract offer that would have brought him to the Mile High City. This is very disappointing news for all Broncos fans who are still waiting for them to address their biggest need. The Broncos failed to draft a defensive tackle in the latest NFL draft, and they have yet to sign a big name free agent to anchor the defensive line. Several teams who are already much better than the Broncos have been making huge splashes in free agency on the defensive side of the ball. When will the Broncos join the party?

]]> Adam Schefter is reporting that the Denver Broncos have traded Jabar Gaffney to the Washington Redskins for DE Jeremy Jarmon. Jarmon is entering his 3rd NFL season and has played in 15 games over that stretch, although he has only started a single time.

Just minutes after the trade became public, John Elway tweeted the following:

“We have acquired DT Jeremy Jarmon from Washington in exchange for WR Jabar Gaffney. Jeremy is an athletic defensive lineman with great versatility. We are looking forward to having him as Bronco.”

In other news the Carolina Panthers have re-signed DeAngelo Williams to a massive 5-year $43-million deal. Hopefully Denver will use some of the money they had pegged for Williams on DT Brandon MeBane.

]]> John Clayton is reporting that the Denver Broncos are making a serious run at free agent defensive tackle Brandon MeBane.

Mebane is a 26-year old who was drafted in 2007 by the Seattle Seahawks. He has 112 tackles and 10 sacks in 53 career games started. He has also been ranked by several national media members as one of the top DT free agents available this offseason. He would be a huge signing for Denver and would continue their massive upgrade on the defensive side of the ball.
