One of the Denver Broncos positions of need this off season is wide receiver. It’s not the biggest need, but it’s one nonetheless.

The New England Patriots are reportedly tired of Brandon Lloyd’s antics in the locker room and on the practice field, and will most likely not be picking up the 11-year veteran’s $3 million option bonus.

Lloyd had 74 catches for 911 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2012, which was the second best season of his career. His best year came with the Broncos in 2010 when he had 77 receptions for 1,448 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Lloyd probably wouldn’t have a year like he did in 2010, but if he returned to the Broncos, he would definitely be a huge asset. Now with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker as deep and mid-range threats, respectively, Lloyd wouldn’t have as much pressure on him as he did a couple of years ago. He could also draw some top defenders toward him, freeing up Thomas or Decker.

Throw in Peyton Manning instead of Kyle Orton, and Lloyd could easily have himself another 900+ yard season.

It looks like Lloyd will be signing with a different club for the seventh time in his career, but if he makes himself available to the Broncos for a relatively low price, then he would have a great chance at winning a ring.

Today the Broncos announced that the 2012 Training Camp will begin on July 26, 2012. That means that next month at this time Bronco Country will be celebrating the start of another new football season. To help Bronco fans get through the next month, I am continuing to look back at past games against teams the Broncos will face in 2012.

After heading east in Week Five to face the New England Patriots, the Broncos will make another road trip, this time to the west coast for a divisional contest. Week Six finds the Broncos making their second appearance of the season on Monday Night Football when they face the San Diego Chargers. The Broncos have faced the Chargers in San Diego on Monday Night Football three times in the last five years. Continue reading for a brief synopsis of those games.
