Any Broncos fan, even if you were born after 2000, is aware of the name John Elway. To put it simply, Elway put the Denver Broncos on the professional football map with his style of play and late game heroics. Although the Super Bowl trips during the eighties were disappointing, winning Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII was icing on the cake for a career that we all knew would conclude at Canton, Ohio in the NFL Hall of Fame. We were wrong because although the playing career has ended, Elway continues leading the Denver Broncos as Executive Vice President of Football Operations. Although he is moving the team in the right direction, most Bronco fans will consider Elway successful in the executive area only if the Broncos can win a third Super Bowl. Another area that Elway is finding success in is the restaurant business. USA Today recently published an article where they asked readers to help identify the top twenty athlete-owned restaurants from a pool of thirty-five restaurants. Guess who rated number one? You guessed it, Elway’s! Continue reading for the entire top twenty list. Click here for link to the USA Today article.

We have all received calls that bring great news, but I am sure many of us have not experienced the type of calls the 2013 NFL draft prospects are receiving once a team has decided to draft them – especially, Denver Bronco draftees! Not only has the dream of becoming a professional football player been alive a long time for these young men, but the 2013 draft class has put in many hours to reach this level.

Even before the 2013 NFL schedule was released on Thursday, there was a lot of interest around the Denver Broncos and many of their games, given the known opponents. Much of this attention was centered around non-AFC West teams due to the natural storylines that have developed recently and continue in 2013. These storylines make many of these games must see games. Realizing that the contests against the Baltimore Ravens, the New York Giants, the Indianapolis Colts, and the New England Patriots, to name a few are exciting, fans must not over look the AFC West and the task the Broncos have before them. Continue reading for my thoughts about the games featuring AFC West opponents. (more…)
