As the regular season will draw to a close, the Denver Broncos go up against their final AFC East opponent in 2017, the New York Jets.

When Week 14 rolls around in December, the Denver Broncos will be looking to stay on pace for a playoff spot at that point in the season. The New York Jets could be the best way to get a much needed win late in the season.

In the next to last home game of the season for the Denver Broncos, the other New York team will be in town. It has been a long time since both the Jets and Giants played at Mile High in the same season.

As far as the New York Jets are concerned, this could be a rough year for them. This offseason saw a lot of players released or traded. Some key veterans for the Jets are going to play with different teams in 2017.

Putting this lightly, this could be a rebuilding year for the Jets. In my opinion, I am not expecting a lot from this team. For all we know, they could be out of the playoffs by the time they come to Denver. But football is tricky. You never know what will happen unless you play the game on the field.

Let us take a look at what the New York Jets have done this offseason.

2017 NFL Draft

Jamal Adams, Safety, Louisiana State University

Marcus Maye, Safety, Florida

ArDarius Stewart, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Chad Hansen, Wide Receiver, California

Jordan Leggett, Tight End, Clemson

Dylan Donahue, Defensive End, West Georgia

Elijah McGuire, Running Back, Louisiana-Lafayette

Jeremy Clark, Cornerback, Michigan

Derrick Jones, Cornerback, Ole Miss

Key Arrivals: Chandler Catanzaro (K), Morris Claiborne (CB), Josh McCown (QB)

Key Departures: Brandon Marshall (WR), Eric Decker (WR), Nick Mangold (C), Nick Folk (K), Darrelle Revis (CB), Calvin Pryor (S) [Traded to Cleveland]

Closing Remarks:

The New York Jets are in the midst of rebuilding. The team has a journeyman quarterback in Josh McCown. The other quarterbacks behind him were taken in the 2015 and 2016 NFL Drafts. Bryce Petty from Baylor and Christian Hackenberg from Penn State.

With a journeyman and two quarterbacks who are nearly new to the NFL, this could be a rough year for the Jets. McCown might help them win a few games. But this looks tough. Unless something drastic happens with this team, this could be one of the few games in which the Denver Broncos will have an advantage all around.

The only way I can see them making any noise in this game is if the defensive front can get to either Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch. But with the Broncos having an improved offensive line, that looks like it will not happen much.

This could be the game, on paper, that the Denver Broncos could use to help them get into the postseason.
