Demaryius Thomas showed some toughness during the 2016 season as he played injured throughout. Now healed, will he have bigger production in 2017?

When I hear of the players that played during the season while dealing with lingering injuries, it is quite inspiring. Perhaps it is the adrenaline of playing the game. Demaryius Thomas must have a lot of that in order to play week in and week out.

The wide receiver revealed  that he was dealing with a hip injury from the first game of the season against the Carolina Panthers. How he played through the final 15 games of the season is something unreal.

But he managed to do it. Here is what he had to say in regards to his injury status from last season.

"“At first, I wasn’t [feeling pain going into the season], And then after the first game against the Carolina Panthers, that’s when I started feeling all my pain. It came back after one hit. I think it was the first play of the game. And that’s when I felt my hip again.”"

Hip injuries are something that can linger for a long time and can take some time to heal. We all know that Matt Paradis is currently recovering from his hip injury. In fact, the Broncos have Connor McGovern working at center while he heals up.

Those hip injuries are something that you do not want to mess with. But the fact that Demaryius Thomas dealt with it and continued playing is quite remarkable.

Next: Should Brandon McManus get a long term deal?

It does make you wonder how he would have done if he was completely healthy. He still recorded over 1,000 yards receiving. Maybe it would have been more if he did not have the injury.

With a new season and new offense coming up, I am excited to see what Demaryius Thomas and the rest of the offense can do.
