The Denver Broncos made a surprising trade in the third day of the NFL Draft as they have traded Kapri Bibbs and their fifth round pick to the 49ers.
We knew that the Denver Broncos would not be using all of their draft picks. But perhaps they made an intriguing move on the third day.
The Denver Broncos have traded Kapri Bibbs and their fifth round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the 49ers fourth round draft pick in 2018.

The move makes sense for the Denver Broncos. But this also tells us that John Elway will be looking to draft a running back in this draft.
After this trade, the Denver Broncos will have C.J. Anderson, Devontae Booker, Juwan Thompson, and Bernard Pierce on the roster. But Thompson will most likely be used as a fullback.
As for Kapri Bibbs, this trade could help him out as well. I have been following him since he was picked up as an undrafted free agent. There was hope that he would take that next step. He began to in 2016.
But perhaps a fresh start in the Bay Area will benefit Kapri Bibbs. He will get a good chance to start for a team that could really use a running back. His speed, power, and ability to catch the ball in the backfield will benefit them.
San Francisco will be getting a great player in Bibbs and a chance to improve their roster with the fifth round pick. For the Denver Broncos, they will be getting a draft pick next year that could make an impact.

The interesting thing about this trade is that the Broncos fifth round pick was the compensatory pick, which have been trade-able since this offseason.
