The Denver Broncos picked Lamar College defensive back Brendan Langley with the 101st overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft…
With the 101st overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos welcomed a new addition to the No Fly Zone in Lamar’s Brendan Langley. Just under two months since the Broncos lost their no. four corner Kayvon Webster to the Los Angeles Rams, they take the big, fast, athletic Langley to effectively take his place on the roster.
Ironically, Webster was also a late third round pick four years ago for the Broncos. Let’s take a look at Langley:
Athletically and physically, Langley stacks up very well among the cornerback prospects in this year’s class. He’s a big corner at 6-foot, 200 pounds who plays press coverage very well. Here’s what Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had to say about him:
"Still raw, but very moldable for defensive backs coach who loves to teach. Has a stiff, disruptive punch from press coverage and can uncork it from his backpedal. Former wide receiver with excellent ball skills…Technique from press coverage is all over the place. Narrow base causes poor balance in his transitions against an inside release. Ragged backpedal needs work…"

Clearly, speed is one of the top attributes for this young man:

Why do I show you all of these tweets? I’m still in the early stages of studying Langley and many other corners in a very deep class, and these guys are in the know.
After Langley blew up the Combine, his pre-draft visit list absolutely took off. He met with the Broncos and impressed them enough that they felt they couldn’t wait until day three to get him. Watching him athletically, it’s pretty clear why.

Add in the fact that this kid can return punts, and you not only have a happy defensive staff but a happy special teams staff. The Broncos used the third round to add some ‘juice’ to the special teams units, and make no mistake about it, both Langley and Henderson will make their marks as rookies in that regard.
The third round was all about speed and toughness for the Broncos. Langley is a former Georgia Bulldogs transfer that was a top recruit in 2013 for a ton of big schools. He played some corner and some receiver before ultimately settling in at corner, where he excelled the past two seasons.
As a senior, Langley exploded onto the scene with six interceptions and two return touchdowns. Of course, it was against lesser competition, but he will have plenty of time to adapt and adjust at the NFL level and prove his playmaking skills.
