With the 2017 NFL Draft less than a week away, it is time for the ultimate three-round mock draft for the Denver Broncos.  Coming off a 2016 campaign that saw the Broncos miss the playoffs, Denver is in dire need of an influx in talent.  This mock is designed to get the Broncos some playmakers at positions of need.

After whiffing on Tony Romo earlier in the offseason, Denver is going to have to roll with either Trevor Siemain or Paxton Lynch in 2017.  Neither of these QB’s are going to be able to put the team on their back and lead them back to the postseason alone.  The Broncos will need help in a big way, and can find some very real talent to assist these quarterbacks.

Despite taking a step back on defense, Denver still had the number one defense in the NFL a year ago according to metrics that adjust based on the competition they faced (DVOA.)  It was the offensive side of the ball that was one of the worst in the league.  This raises the big question:  Do the Broncos go offense or defense in the first round?

On the offensive side, there are some incredible playmakers that should be available to the Broncos at 20.   They could also address the left tackle spot—by far their most glaring weakness on the entire roster.  However, during John Elway’s tenure as Vice President of Football Operations, he has used his first round pick on defense 4 out of 5 times (5 of 6 if you include Derek Wolfe who Denver picked in the second round after trading out of the first.)  Denver did win a Super Bowl just two seasons ago despite a well-below average offense.  The temptation could be there to add some defensive talent in an attempt to get the defense back to the level it was at in 2015.

So without further ado, the picks:
