Domata Peko, a veteran stalwart and a Poly, may be just what the Broncos locker room needs.

As the Denver Broncos seek for new locker room leaders, Domata Peko may be an option.

Peko, a defensive tackle signed from the Bengals in March, has a strong reputation in this role. During the 2011 lockout, Peko, per this San Diego Union-Tribune article, kept the Bengals afloat.

It’s easy to see that Peko could be what the Broncos are looking for. His value will only soar for a team in transition with a new head coach.

Head Coach Vance Joseph and Peko were together in Cincinnati in 2014 and 2015 when Joseph coached the Bengals’ defensive backs. Therefore, there’s already a sense of continuity. This is something every locker room in the NFL sorely needs.

If nothing else, Peko can provide some emotional support to his teammates as this tweet attests:

Peko has been a constant stalwart in 11 seasons with the Bengals. In his time with the Bengals, he amassed 18.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Therefore, it’s safe to say that he’s valuable both in the locker room and on the field.

I can also mention that from personal experience, Polynesians are excellent on the gridiron. Here in Utah, there are many “Polys,” as we call them who just have an innate knack for football. Peko, a native Samoan, will bring football excellence and some solid dance movesHere are some of them that may amuse you.

Until it’s not, football remains a game predicated on emotion. With Peko bringing so much to the table, I present my case for him being a Broncos team leader. I think that Broncos Country will find themselves experiencing Peko fever.
