The Denver Broncos have some big decisions to make coming up in the 2017 NFL Draft. What if they go big or go home? Here’s a possible scenario…

John Elway has always been somewhat of a risk-taker in his time making decisions for the Denver Broncos, and I decided to put together the ultimate risk-reward mock draft. This is just one scenario of an incredible amount of possibilities, but it’s one I think would be fun for the Broncos to at least entertain.

It’s clear going into the draft that the Broncos have a need at left tackle, but beyond that, there’s not many areas of the team that are in desperate need of starters.

As such, I think the Broncos will come away from this year’s draft with a number of great value players. Here’s one way they can exploit the depth in this year’s draft class at positions they could use a jolt, getting some players that are considered some of the highest risk/reward players in the draft…

Cam Robinson might be the poster for ‘risk vs. reward’ players in this year’s draft class. One of the best tackles in the country over the last three seasons, Robinson left Alabama a year early, and looks poised to get picked at some point in the first round.

Is he worth the 20th overall pick? That’s one big reason why the Broncos are bringing him in for a pre-draft visit. They know the depth of this year’s draft is not at the tackle position, but there are players like Robinson that could be picked in the first round that can develop into starting left tackles at the next level.

Robinson plays with a chip on his shoulder and has a nastiness to him that you see on tape, but there are definite inconsistencies in his pass blocking. If the Broncos believe they can fix his footwork and get him up to speed, he could be a perfect fit in their primarily power blocking scheme offensively.
