Denver Broncos: Gary Kubiak Wants To Return To Football

Announcing his retirement from coaching last month, former Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak is eyeing a possible return to the game.

It appears as if Gary Kubiak could make a return to the NFL. It is just difficult sometimes to stay away from the game.

The former Denver Broncos head coach is in Houston, where the NFL spotlight is on Super Bowl 51. The Atlanta Falcons are set to face off against the New England Patriots.

Gary Kubiak met with some of the media at Super Bowl 51 and talked to The Denver Post about wanting to return to the NFL in a non-coaching role.

Back in January, Gary Kubiak announced his retirement from coaching. He was head coach for the Denver Broncos for only two seasons. However, he enjoyed success with a Super Bowl 50 win last February.

However, his health was not doing so well. Kubiak suffered a stroke in 2013 while coaching the Houston Texans.

This past season might have been the straw that broke the camels back. After a Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons, Gary Kubiak was sent to the hospital.

The condition was a complex migraine that sidelined him from the following game against the San Diego Chargers a few days later.

But Gary Kubiak is not rushing to get back into the game of football anytime soon.

“What I am going to do is make sure I take a good break here, then I am going to make a decision and go get after it”

It would be great to see Gary Kubiak back in some kind of football role. A lot of players on the team respected him and he was always loyal, to a fault, with his players.

I can see Coach Kubiak being very successful in a football role outside of coaching. He definitely has the experience and leadership to do it.

It will be interesting to see where it goes in the next couple of months. But I wish him all the best in his life post-coaching.
