As you can read in my headline, the Denver Broncos are the most well-rested team in the NFL right now.

Their last game, a disappointing 21-13 loss to the San Diego Chargers, was October 13, 11 days ago.

The Buccaneers and Vikings had Week 6 byes, but they have already played their Week 7 games. Now, Denver has had the longest span between games in all the NFL.

The 4-2 Broncos have lots of good reasons to play well Monday as their guests, the Houston Texans, are also 4-2 . Also, the Broncos’ AFC West rivals, Oakland, Kansas City and San Diego, all won their Sunday games.

The Broncos are also continuing their streak of appearances on the Monday Night Football series. This is their 24th consecutive season of appearing on Monday Night Football, the second longest streak in the NFL.

While much has been said about the Broncos welcoming back reviled signal-caller Brock Osweiler to Denver, there are more essential things to discuss concerning this evening’s game.

First, if the Broncos are to succeed offensively, as Broncos cheerleader/CBS 4 Denver sports analyst Romi Bean reported Monday, it’s in their best interests if quarterback Trevor Siemian gets off to a nice start.

This is because he is facing the second-ranked pass defense in the NFL in Houston, giving up only 189.3 yards per game in the air.

The Broncos’ pass defense is the best in the NFL with 182.3 yards per game.

With this said, I found this tweet from NFL Network’s James Palmer quite fascinating. Sometimes, stats are just so much fun.

Anyway, Siemian (98 of 151, completing 64.9 percent of his passes on the season for 7 TD’s/3 INT’s) will have the services of all his favorite targets, it would appear.

This is because the Broncos’ injury report states that only outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware has been ruled out while receiver Cody Latimer and tackle Russell Okung are listed as questionable.

It’s a small miracle that Okung is able to go potentially because after the loss to the Chargers, he was hospitalized in San Diego with concussion symptoms.

Perhaps the greatest asset toward  the Broncos’ success this evening, however, is the return to the sidelines of head coach Gary Kubiak.

Kubiak just brings a command to the sidelines and appears to have a calming influence on the Broncos players. With him back in his right mind after rest and missing the loss to San Diego, he will likely be back to his old self which will only help a veteran team such as Denver is.

The Broncos will also be honoring several franchise greats of the past, adding them to the famed Ring of Fame at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

.

In closing, as Lisa Hidalgo of Denver’s ABC 7 (the Denver Channel) tells us, conditions are propitious for football in the Mile High City.
