Broncos vs. Texans: Best Game of All Time
By Tylor Walden
The Denver Broncos and Houston Texans are set to play each other for the sixth time in NFL history. I take a look at the one game that stuck out to me in the series history.
For only the sixth time in NFL history, the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans will face off in an NFL game. The reasoning behind the lack of games against one another is because the Houston Texans entered the league as an expansion team in 2002.
The first meeting between the Broncos and Texans did not take place until the 2004 season, a game in which the Broncos won. Because of the lack of history between these two franchises, I will be covering only one game that stuck out to me in the history of the two teams. The Broncos lead the all time series 3-2.
There are some interesting ties to both teams here. As we know, the current Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler will be going up against his former team. For Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, he will go up against the team that gave him his first head coaching job.
It was due to Gary Kubiak’s leadership that led the team to a winning season and a couple playoff births. But I am sure the Broncos are glad to have him back on their side.
Now that I am done getting sidetracked, let us take a look at the game.
But before I do, my honorable mention would be the last time these two teams squared off in the regular season. It was the game in which Peyton Manning passed Tom Brady to become the record holder for most touchdown passes in a single season.

The Denver Broncos fanbase got their first taste of Tebow Mania and his ability to make some pretty crazy comebacks. The season was all but over for the Broncos. The team had just fired Josh McDaniels just a couple weeks prior to this game and the team was just looking to get the season over with.
In the first of many comebacks by the Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida, Tim Tebow saw his team down 17-0 at home. The fans were having none of it and just saw this as another lost cause.
However, two minutes into the second half, Tebow led the team down the field. The drive ended with a six yard touchdown run by Correll Buckhalter to give the Broncos their first points of the game.
After trading field goals, the Broncos found themselves down 23-10 going into the final quarter. This is where the magic began. Just four minutes into the fourth quarter, Tebow found Buckhalter for a 23 yard touchdown. This trimmed the lead down to six points.
It did not stop there. Tebow and the Broncos offense got down the field again and with about three minutes to go in the game, Tebow faked the run one way and ran it the other and beat the defender to the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown.
The Texans would try to take the lead back for good, but a Matt Schaub pass was tipped and intercepted by the Broncos defense.
Denver would snap a five game losing streak and win by the score of 24-23. What is your favorite moment between the Broncos and Texans? Let me know in the comments below.
