Von Miller adds another trophy to his Denver Broncos case, proving start of the season was no fluke. This is his third Defensive Player of the Month Award passing the great Champ Bailey for most in the team’s history.

Denver Broncos: Von Miller Wins Defensive Player of the Month

Coming off his Super Bowl 50 MVP, Von Miller appeared to be in the best shape of his life heading into the opener against the Carolina Panthers. If you do not recall, Miller averaged 2.5 sacks in the playoffs and already has five sacks in 2016.

Miller’s offseason was non-stop filled with endorsements and his fun-loving nature off the football field, as well as on. The last thing a person would attribute success to is Dancing With the Stars, but for Miller, he appears to be quicker and faster than any point in his professional career.

A Defensive Player of the Week is already in the trophy room for Miller, but now has added the Defensive Player of the Month to his impressive resume. There will be more before all is said and done. In fact, Miller’s successful start to the season and JJ Watt’s rough beginning to his season means the Super Bowl MVP is an early choice for Defensive Player of the Year.

Through the first three weeks of the season, Miller’s NFL-leading five sacks helped the Broncos to an undefeated record in the month of September. Miller has also accounted for 12 tackles (9 are solo), three tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, a pass defended and one forced fumble. Versatility continues to grow for Miller as he develops a more unstoppable game.

Miller now looks to feast on Jameis Winston, as the next quarterback on his dinner plate.
