Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian threw four touchdown passes against the Cincinnati Bengals, and over 300 yards in his first career road start…

It wasn’t a flawless performance from Trevor Siemian, but I hope it was one that shut up some of the doubters. Siemian was phenomenal in the second half of the Broncos’ victory against the Cincinnati Bengals, and really did a good job throughout the game with a couple of bad throws (near interceptions) sprinkled in.

It was a tough start to the game for the Broncos’ offense, which was quickly off the field on their first drive of the game, then failed to put the ball in the end zone on a 14-play drive after Jeremy Hill’s touchdown broke open the scoring in the game. This third down throw from Siemian to Sanders wasn’t perfect, but it got the job done.

This is a much more impressive throw from Siemian to Sanders, and it’s an incredibly tight window. I feel like it wasn’t all that long ago we saw Peyton Manning against the Cincinnati Bengals trying to gun this type of ball in, and he was intercepted by Dre’ Kirkpatrick. The throw by Siemian is on the money, but it absolutely had to be.

This is great concentration by Sanders, a phenomenal receiver, to help out his quarterback and make a big play.

Siemian had another one-yard touchdown pass on play-action to John Phillips prior to this play to Demaryius Thomas, but there’s no video currently available for that at this time. Skipping ahead to Thomas’ score, this throw by Siemian is coming on a 3-and-11 with the game and momentum hanging in the balance. He takes a shot downfield into one-on-one coverage, and while Thomas has to adjust to the ball, it hits him right on his outside shoulder and he’s able to make a huge play.

These are just as much highlights for the Broncos’ stud receivers as they are for Siemian, but look at the two clutch touchdown throws each coming on third down. That is so impressive to me. This is a former seventh round draft pick, obviously learning quickly and today wasn’t easy in terms of the protection up front.

Russell Okung was hurt early in the game, and Ty Sambrailo was not good in his return from injury. There was pressure from the edge all day, and Siemian stepped up and made some huge plays. Broncos fans have reason to be excited.
