The Denver Broncos received great news as the star wide receiver is expected to be back on the field by at the least Wednesday this week; however, according to his teammates, Demaryius Thomas could have practiced today.
Teammates expected Demaryius Thomas to practice today.. Will know more soon. Getting Fowler back would help, too. #Broncos

The Broncos were unsure of the severity of the hip injury. Thomas sought a second opinion on the injury, which typically means a doctor’s first prognosis could result in surgery or a worst-case scenario. Adam Schefter tweeted yesterday morning that the early forecast of Thomas’ hip will need a second opinion. There was growing concern over Thomas’ injury and whether he would miss significant time, but head coach Gary Kubiak feels Thomas is looking “doing pretty good” and expects to be back Wednesday.
Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas, who suffered hip injury Thursday, underwent MRI Friday that now will be sent out for 2nd opinion, per sources.

This is an important year for Thomas, who is looking to bounce back from his head-scratching 2015 season. Statistically, Thomas had a typical Pro Bowl year, but due to an inordinate number of drops in critical situations, the wide receiver now finds himself in a rebound frame of mind. Thomas caroled four catches and 48 yards in the gratifying home opener win against the Carolina Panthers.
The emergence of Emmanuel Sanders and Cody Latimer with the Broncos offense could make the team as deep as it has ever been. In Training Camp we saw glimpses of the depth at the position with Jordan Taylor and Latimer emerging as viable targets to get reps in the offense. The team’s third target last year, Bennie Fowler also appears be on track to play at some point and will help Trevor Siemian and the offense.
We do not know if Thomas will be available to play on Sunday; however, if Kubiak feels the Pro Bowl wide receiver had an opportunity to practice today, then that bodes well for Thomas to be active against the Indianapolis Colts. Even if Thomas is active for Sunday, there is uncertainty as to the amount of snaps he will partake in versus the Colts secondary.
All of Broncos Country can now exhale with the news on Demaryius Thomas.
