The Denver Broncos have made 11 roster moves to cut the roster number down to 79, including the release of veteran safety Brandian Ross…

The Denver Broncos announced 11 roster moves as they begin the quest to cut the roster down to 75 by Tuesday’s deadline…

This is a tough day and a tough week in general for players. The roster cut-downs are the end of the NFL dream for some guys, and the beginning of a new journey for others. Typically the first round of cuts has no real surprises in it, and that’s definitely the case here for the Broncos, who still have four roster moves to make.

Here is a list of the players that were let go by Denver in their initial wave of cuts:

More from Predominantly Orange

DB Brandian Ross
DB Antonio Glover
TE Mannaseh Garner
OL Mathu Gibson
OL Cameron Jefferson
DL Calvin Heurtelou
DL David Moala
WR Durron Neal
WR DeVier Posey
LB Frank Shannon
LB Darnell Sankey

The Broncos still have to let go of four players in some capacity before the Tuesday deadline, and there are rumors that quarterback Mark Sanchez could be among them. If the Broncos are unable to trade Sanchez (as we speculated Saturday evening), they are reportedly likely to let him go.

Letting Sanchez go would save the Broncos a pretty significant chunk against the cap as well as a late-round draft pick they would otherwise owe the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s unfair to speculate on players who will get cut, so we’ll shy away from any more of that. However, this is a start for one of the deepest teams in the NFL and now the process begins toward making some of the more difficult roster decisions with a lot of guys who will get looked at by other teams.
