Broncos Lynch Gunning For Starting Job

Denver Broncos are expected to play Paxton Lynch as the second quarterback in the game tonight against the Los Angeles Rams.

This is not good news for Mark Sanchez. He was the likely starter at the beginning of Training Camp this year. Due to not separating from the competition, he now finds a hard up hill battle the rest of the way to even make the team.

Lynch, on other hand, has moved up the chart to number two. Only thing keeping Lynch from starting or seeing significant time with first-team offense is knowledge of the playbook. Once the quarterback grasps Kubiak’s system, he will not be stopped.

The likely scenario is Trevor Siemian starting first four to six games; however, if Lynch proves he is ready to roll, the Broncos will have no choice to go with the first round draft pick. However, Siemian’s play could put a wrinkle in that conversation. Lynch’s potential is unlimited, which is why it is better for the team to start a young buck out of stable for this team to succeed.

Broncos only have four players over the age of 30 (DeMarcus Ware, Britton Colquitt, Aqib Talib and Garrett Graham). This makes it equally important for the team to roll with Siemian or Lynch as the offense can gel now, which would better them for the future. Russell Wilson and Ben Roethlisberger are great examples in this regard.

Nonetheless, it will be great to see the rookie take snaps in the third preseason game.
