The Denver Broncos have made a roster transition on Friday by placing DE Vance Walker on injured reserve and re-signed tight end Manasseh Garner.

Vance Walker was set to be the starting defensive end for the Denver Broncos opposite of Derek Wolfe when the 2016 season began. Now his season is officially over, that will no longer be the case.

As first reported by Jeff Legwold, the Denver Broncos have placed Vance Walker on injured reserve. This will effectively end his season as he recovers from a torn ACL.

To take his place on the roster, the Broncos have re-signed tight end Manasseh Garner. Garner was on the roster earlier in the offseason and was later on waived by the team.

The move to bring in another tight end could be to have another body while Jeff Heuerman nurses an injured hamstring. However, unless Garner impresses in the next couple days or weeks, his second stint with the Broncos this offseason could just be a short one.

For Vance Walker, this is a disappointing end to a season that was over before it began. He was projected to be the starter until the injury occurred. What will be interesting is what the team does opposite of Wolfe as the starter for the Broncos.

The tight end position for the Denver Broncos is quite an interesting one. With Virgil Green, Jeff Heuerman, Garrett Graham, and Henry Krieger-Coble on the roster, it was pretty much a free for all.

Virgil Green showed some promise in the first quarter in last Thursday’s preseason tilt with the Chicago Bears. I did not get to see enough of the other three to make a fair assessment yet. Hopefully in Saturday’s game against the 49ers, I will be able to.

Manasseh Garner might not make a lot of splash, but we can see what he can do first hand this Saturday as well.

We wish Vance Walker the best in his recovery. Hopefully he comes back even stronger next season. Keep it here at Predominantly Orange as we keep you updated on all things that happen during the preseason.
