Denver Broncos second-year guard Ty Sambrailo, the team’s second round pick in 2015, is out on the field at practice Wednesday with a brace on his arm…

The Denver Broncos are back on the practice field Wednesday, and while Ty Sambrailo joined them, he isn’t participating.

The second year player out of Colorado State hyperextended his elbow in practice a couple of days ago, and is now wearing a brace on his arm…

Sambrailo missed most of last season with a shoulder injury, and it’s discouraging at best to see him out there again with a brace on his arm. If he’s going to miss significant time again, the Broncos could be in an interesting position.

Sambrailo was replaced at practice on Monday by rookie fifth round pick Connor McGovern, and there was a chance McGovern might have rotated into that spot anyway. The Broncos really like McGovern’s potential as a future starter, but this would be a bit quick for him.

He definitely has the strength to handle it, however…

For Sambrailo, you’ve got to find a way to get back onto the field as soon as possible. The competition on the offensive line is going to be really strong, and as they attempt to form some sort of cohesion, it’s going to be important for him to get out there.

The team obviously has high hopes for him, seeing as he was a second round pick just last year. He’s a talented player and many felt like he would be a good fit at the guard position coming out of college, so we will just have to wait a little bit longer to see.

Hopefully when Gary Kubiak updates Sambrailo’s status, there will be positive news to report.
