In my next installment of the evaluation series, I take a look at how the current Denver Broncos tight ends did last season and see how they will fair in training camp.

With training camp just 15 days away, the Denver Broncos are looking to improve on the offensive side of the ball. One area in the offense that did not have a lot of production in 2015 was the tight end position.

In my honest evaluation from 2015, Owen Daniels was the only tight end who’s name appeared on multiple occasions. Virgil Green did catch a touchdown pass in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but was quiet the rest of the way.

The Broncos went back and forth with Richard Gordon on the roster, but he never saw any playing time or was inactive for the game.

And who can forget Vernon Davis. A trade deadline acquisition from the San Francisco 49ers, it was believed that he could make up for the production that Julius Thomas brought to the Broncos. However, he never really gained any traction. Luckily for him, his half season on the roster did give him a ring.

With Owen Daniels getting released shortly before free agency began (which I was completely shocked about) this appears to be Virgil Green’s time to shine now. I mean, they did bring him back over Julius Thomas for a reason, right?

Also, with 2015 third round draft pick Jeff Heuerman returning from an ACL injury, the tight ends should be more productive for the Broncos offense in 2016.

Earlier this week, Sayre Bedinger provided the faithful readers at Predominantly Orange his depth chart predictions on the tight ends. Now I will be evaluating how each tight end did in 2015 that is currently on the roster and give my take on how I think they will do in 2016.

Let us take a look, starting with the man who might be the answer at tight end for 2016.
