Denver Broncos wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding warrant for failing to show up to a court hearing on a citation. Is this something that Broncos fans should be worried about?
Cody Latimer has had a difficult time finding his placement on the team. However, he did emerge a bit as of late in the season when he caught a Brock Osweiler touchdown pass against the Chicago Bears and his big special teams play against the New England Patriots the following week.
Latimer is looking to play a big part in the offense this season. However, he did not earn any brownie points over the Memorial Day Weekend.
According to KUSA in Denver, the third year from Indiana University was arrested for an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court for a citation.
According to reports, Latimer called the office to report that his girlfriend had “put his hands on him” in a domestic dispute. The girlfriend, Jaimee Rando, ended up being arrested for assault and disturbing the peace.
However, when a background check was done on both Rando and Latimer, the Broncos wide receiver was found with an active arrest warrant stemming from a citation in March of last year for “improper lighting on his vehicle/trailer” and failed to appear in court on April 29th.
Gary Kubiak did note in Tuesday’s media availability that Cody Latimer did miss OTA’s that day for personal reasons. The wide out did pay $311.50 after spending Monday night in jail for the failure to appear in court. He also paid Rando’s bail on Tuesday afternoon.

I honestly do not believe this will do anything to Cody Latimer’s future with the Denver Broncos. In fact, he is expected to contribute to the Broncos this season. However, it still has that stench that comes with being arrested as a NFL player.
While Cody Latimer has not lived up to his expectations that come with a second round draft pick, it can’t be helped, especially with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders there as well.
Hopefully this arrest does not come to haunt him in the near future.
