The Denver Broncos are rolling with the signings as they have now signed five of their draft picks in three days. The team has signed Third and Fourth Round Picks Justin Simmons and Devontae Booker to rookie deals.

Five down, three more to go. The Denver Broncos have signed 3rd and 4th round draft picks Justin Simmons and Devontae Booker to their rookie deals on Friday.

Only Paxton Lynch, Adam Gotsis, and Connor McGovern are the only draft picks that have yet to sign.

"Simmons. Booker."

Signed.

Justin Simmons played his collegian career at Boston College, where he has been known to be a hard hitting safety that could play a crucial part to the No Fly Zone secondary this season if he shows his ability to adapt in the NFL during training camp and preseason.

Secondary depth was a bit of an issue during the season. David Bruton Jr. was knocked out of the rest of the season in Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Injuries to Darian Stewart and T.J. Ward also showed their true colors in some games last season.

Having a reliable, young player in Justin Simmons and Will Parks will be very key. Now that both of them are under contract, the depth of the secondary, especially safety, expanded a bit more.

Perhaps the most surprising pick in the draft that could be the biggest steal is when the Denver Broncos used their fourth round draft selection on Devontae Booker from Utah. I figured that with C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman re-signing with the team, that a running back would not be an issue.

Gary Kubiak and John Elway thought otherwise. Or it could be a case of drafting the best player available. Either way this is an interesting pick up for the Denver Broncos. And it propels that the running back position will be one to pay close attention to in training camp.

Devontae Booker has been linked to the Denver Broncos for a while since his visit with the team, so in that sense there was no surprise. I can see him making the final roster and joining C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman as a three running back system.

Next: Broncos sign Will Parks and Andy Janovich

This could also mean that Juwan Thompson could be on the outside looking in, as well as Kapri Bibbs. I was really excited for Bibbs and Thompson. But perhaps it is not in the cards for them. We shall see.

Look for the final three draft picks to be signed soon. And keep it here at Predominantly Orange as we keep you updated on all the signings from the draft.
