With the first day of the 2016 NFL Draft past us, it’s time to look at some of the most talented players left on the Board and who of the remaining picks could be a good value to the Broncos in Day 2.

With the seemingly everlasting wait for another QB ending last night with the selection of Memphis QB Paxton Lynch, all eyes are on to Day 2 of the NFL Draft for the Denver Broncos.  For much as excitement as there was over the Lynch pick, Broncos fans should still be amped up for the following two days of the Draft for two reasons.

  1. There’s still plenty of 1st round talent that is available  and will continue to be available well into the end of Round 3 tonight.
  2. The Broncos have a great track record of finding talented prospects later on in the Draft. There’s a very good chance a handful of future starters for the Broncos are selected tonight and tomorrow.

Let’s take a look at some of the talent still available in Day 2.

Aside from the guys mentioned in the video above, there’s quite a bit of talent left for the Broncos to pick from(especially at Defensive Line). Players like Jarran Reed, Kevin Dodd, Andrew Billings, Chris Jones, A’Shawn Robinson and Reggie Ragland were all widely considered to be 1st Round talents that are still available going into the Draft today.  This is a good sign for the Broncos as they will continue to look at addressing the Defensive Line and Inside Linebacker positions at some point in the Draft.

Another intriguing name to keep an eye on is Noah Spence. The former Buckeye pass rusher was considered to be a Top 10 talent early in the Draft process, but off-field issues have caused his stock to slip into Day 2. Do not count Spence out as a possible pick for the Broncos today, if he were to make it one of their picks. John Elway has made it clear that he will not only take the best players available but that he would always consider a talented pass rusher, if one were to fall into his lap.

Other highly rated players that have slipped into Day 2 include Connor Cook, Jason Spriggs, Hunter Henry, Mackenzie Alexander, Cody Whitehair, Derrick Henry and Braxton Miller. To me, having all of these great prospects fall into Day 2 is fantastic for the Broncos.

Not only did they get their presumed QB of the future last night in Paxton Lynch, but they also see an influx of great talent falling and consequently, giving the Broncos more options for their 2nd and 3rd Round picks today.  Thanks to how Day 1 of the Draft shaped up, the Broncos can go in a variety of different directions with the picks they have remaining.

We’ll see how it all plays out tonight but rest assured, Broncos Country, Predominantly Orange will keep you locked in with the Draft coverage!
