The Colin Kaepernick to the Denver Broncos trade may have picked up steam in the last hour as Adam Schefter has tweeted GM Trent Baalke told Bob Holtzman of ESPN, that a trade of Kaepernick is still possible this week.

Schefter, was on 104.3 The Fan on Apr. 20 stating the 49ers and Colin Kaepernick were headed for a divorce.

“I had people calling me yesterday that the Browns and Eagles would get the deal done. Of course, the deal came together and got done. The same people that were telling me that, three of them, told me that San Francisco and Kapernick are going to have to end in a divorce. Most people believe that is a difficult relationship to have to continue. They’re going to have to move him and if they have to move him, there is only one logical landing spot.”

It does seem inevitable the Broncos will land the 28-year old quarterback. There is always the likes of a mystery team added to the mix. However, do not be surprised if the New England Patriots call regarding Kaepernick, but given the glowing praise of Jimmy Garopolo, it seems unlikely.

Another team that might be waiting in the wings is the New York Jets, but one thing to remember, the Jets backed out of the pursuit a month ago because they felt the Broncos were the team to land Kaepernick.

The Broncos remain the most logical fit and landing spot for KApernick, but the options are there for Denver to make a move before the draft. Due to Kaepernick’s skillset, the Broncos could acquire a high risk, high reward quarterback. His mobility is much more polished then Paxton Lynch and with the Broncos Kaepernick could be with the Broncos for the future, but would all depend on his play and John Elway’s continued willingness to move on if need be.

This will be a fun 24 hours leading up to draft night.
