Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler will be on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and some of his teammates are up for weekly awards after their win against the New England Patriots.
When it rains, it pours.
Sometimes in a good way.
The Denver Broncos beat the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football, and they are starting to rack up the accolades, beginning with quarterback Brock Osweiler being featured on the cover of the prestigious Sports Illustrated magazine.

Osweiler is obviously the 5th different Broncos QB to make it to the cover of this magazine, which in itself is pretty cool. If you’ve been a collector long enough, you might even have all of the Denver Broncos covers, and there are plenty.
As much as it has been seemingly a ‘curse’ to be on the cover of the magazine, it’s a great honor for Osweiler even though the circumstances aren’t exactly ideal. The NFL has gone through a great deal of injuries at the QB position this season, and Osweiler happens to be the guy taking over for the injured Peyton Manning at the moment.
In addition to Osweiler’s cover appearance at SI.com, running back C.J. Anderson was nominated for the FedEx Ground player of the week. Anderson is also a candidate to be named AFC offensive player of the week after his strong performance against the Patriots in which he scored two touchdowns, including the game winner in overtime.
Anderson’s performance wouldn’t have been possible if not for the strong blocking of the offensive line, and rookie Max Garcia did such a good job against New England that he’s up for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award.
Garcia, who was initially going to take snaps at left guard in place of Evan Mathis, had to move over to the right side of the line when Louis Vasquez went down with a groin injury. He did a fine, fine job.
All of that news came in on Tuesday, so it’s been a good start to Chargers week for the Broncos.
