No matter how you slice it and dice it, the Denver Broncos are sitting at 4-0. One of the six undefeated teams left in the league. However, it seems as if they are not getting all the respect than the other undefeated teams.

Granted their offense has not looked like the 2013 squad that set records left and right, they are proving that their defense can help them win games. In fact, the Broncos defense is responsible for three of the Broncos four wins this season.

How will the the Broncos be ranked this week in the Power Rankings? Let us take a look at three separate power rankings from NFL Network, The MMQB, and ESPN.

NFL.com- Broncos enter Week 5 at No. 4

The Denver Broncos have risen one spot from last week to number four on NFL.com’s power rankings. That puts them behind three teams. Packers, Patriots, and Bengals. While I can understand them behind Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, I think there should at least be a tie with the Bengals if ties were allowed.

With that said, having the Broncos in the top five is okay for the time being. They give a lot of praise to Wade Phillips and how he has really gotten this defense “Kicking and Screaming” and making huge plays.

The MMQB- Broncos sit at No. 3

In Peter King’s Fine Fifteen, he places the Broncos at number three. While he notes that they are just barely over the Bengals in this week’s rankings, he makes notes on the defense and Peyton Manning.

He likes the Broncos defense and believes Peyton Manning, while making the note that he is mortal, will improve as the season goes on.

I have to agree with Peter King. The offense as a whole is still trying to find their identity. Once things get going, this team will be a formidable team that has a chance to make a deep run in January.

ESPN- Broncos rise up to No. 3

Just like Peter King, ESPN is starting to realize how good the Denver Broncos are. The team rose one spot to number three on ESPN’s power rankings. They note on the 18 sacks the Broncos defense has and that 11 different players have at least one sack.

The Broncos defense has impressed. ESPN’s analysis shows the depth of the Denver Broncos defense. It is quite remarkable that this defense has done so well and has so much depth, it is scary.

The Broncos will take their new power rankings to Oakland this week. Go Broncos!
