Demarcus Ware is entering his second year with the Denver Broncos after spending the majority of his career with the Dallas Cowboys. Now as a leader of the Broncos defense, Demarcus Ware is looking to make a big splash in the 2015 season under a new defensive coordinator and a brand new defense.

Last year, Demarcus Ware was lined up on the defensive line, now he will suit up as an outside linebacker. He will be a great teacher for Shane Ray, who was the Broncos first round draft pick during the offseason. Like Peyton Manning, health concerns could be in the mix for Demarcus Ware, but he is determined to work his butt off to make this a great season.

Demarcus Ware got a chance to talk to the media on Thursday and covered topics such as the suspension to Derek Wolfe, Antonio Smith, and a player who has surprised him the most during the offseason. When asked about the suspension, Demarcus Ware was confident that the training camp should help out Wolfe.

“Things happen during the offseason, but I know Derek Wolfe worked really hard and I’m glad that he will get to practice during training camp and get his time in. It is going to be tough not having him, but we have guys that will fill in the role until he gets back.”

Speaking of guys to fill in the role, there has been one player that has stepped up during mini camp that has impressed not only the coaches, but Demarcus Ware as well. When asked about who impressed him during minicamp that can step in for Derek Wolfe, Demarcus Ware did not hesitate.

“I think one of the guys who stepped up was Kenny Anunike. He is a young guy who hurt his arm last year and had the entire year to get himself together. I saw how determined he was during minicamp. He was learning how to play both sides of defensive end, both tackles with the three’s and four’s and even out there with the first team. He is coming along really well.”

Demarcus Ware is no stranger to health concerns, as he is slowly climbing up there in his health. The key for him is to be healthy during the season and he approached the question starting with consistency. And for Demarcus Ware, it also comes down to confidence.

“It comes back to being consistent the entire season. You can play the first six games and have six sacks and then not have a single one the next four games. I feel this year is different because I did not have any offseason injuries or surgeries, so having that full offseason is going to help a lot.”

With a brand new defense, the team is going to be relying on players like Demarcus Ware in order to have a solid season. And it appears from his meeting with the media that he will be ready to go help the team to the promise land. He is hoping for a better result than the one the team suffered in 2014.
