Continuing on from last week’s roster battles, I will now turn my attention to the running back position. The Denver Broncos running back battle should be an interesting one. One player that I am keeping my eye on for the 2015 season is former Colorado State running back Kapri Bibbs.

Kapri Bibbs was selected by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent last season. He became a fan favorite and worked hard during the 2014 season. Due to the depth, Kapri Bibbs did not end up making the final roster when the regular season began but did make the practice squad. About halfway through the season, Kapri Bibbs finally got his shot and was signed to the active roster.

However, he did not see a snap during his time on the active roster and ended up back on the practice squad. Why does Kapri Bibbs have a solid chance of making the final roster this time around? There are a few reasons why.

With the Denver Broncos focusing more on the running game, it makes sense as to give Kapri Bibbs an equal chance to make the roster. He also has quite the skill set, most notably his speed and his ability to make cuts to get to the opening on the field. Any time a player has a chance to score whenever he touches the ball because of those abilities is always a force on the offensive side of the ball.

Another factor that could sway me into giving Kapri Bibbs a chance is that he has a chance to breakout this year. When a player is subjected to multiple moves from the practice squad and the active roster, you want to prove yourself to the team. Last season, there were other teams interested in Kapri Bibbs from the practice squad so the Broncos signed him to the active roster because they saw something in him. We could see that this year in the Broncos zone blocking scheme attack.

Now that he has some experience, this could be Kapri Bibbs’ year to make an impact on the Broncos. He could be a solid player to spell C.J. Anderson, another undrafted running back, and become a change of pace back.

Keep an eye on Kapri Bibbs during his second year in the league. He could become an impact player for the team this season.
