Horse Droppings: Pat Bowlen Claims Seat at Broncos Throne

facebooktwitterreddit

When you think of the Denver Broncos, it’s impossible not to think about legendary owner Pat Bowlen, whom many believe to be the best owner in professional sports. It was announced on Wednesday that Bowlen would take his rightful place in the Broncos’ Ring of Fame, and such honor will firmly entrench Bowlen in his seat at the throne of all that is orange and blue.

He is the Denver Broncos.

Of course, electing Bowlen was — as that article states — an obvious choice. John Elway had some great things to say about Mr. B as well.

And perhaps a trip to Canton is soon in the cards for Bowlen. When Bowlen stepped away from the team due to health issues, it was a dark moment in the franchise’s history. He’s meant so much to the city of Denver, to the Broncos, and every person that has walked through the halls at Dove Valley.

Just visit DenverBroncos.com and see the homage that has been paid.

Let’s hope Elway can hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of this season and bring everyone to tears with the one-liner everyone wants to hear: “This one’s for Pat.”

Darius Kilgo, Max Garcia Sign Rookie Deals

If you’re happy and you know it, shout HOORAY!

The Broncos aren’t moving at the incredible speed of light at which teams like the Chicago Bears sign draft picks, but all the rookie deals will be getting done soon.

Reaction to Broncos Waiver Claims

Brad James at Mile High Huddle, and one of the coolest Broncos fans on Twitter, wrote some good stuff about the additions that were made of Solomon Patton (whom I love) and Marcel Jensen.

DeMarcus Ware Checks in at No. 87 on NFL Top 100

This is the dumbest list that comes out every year. Golden Tate was ranked ahead of Emmanuel Sanders, and I’m sure there’s someone out there who can justify that. Don’t bring that crap on here, this is a Denver Broncos site… 🙂

As always, Jon Heath of Mile High Report was working his social media magic.

Karl Schmitz Feature from Jeff Legwold

I’ve been so intrigued by Karl Schmitz all offseason. For those of you who don’t know, Schmitz is a kicker/punter who will be a 28-year old rookie this year that joined the Broncos after impressing John Elway and some special teams coaches in a workout.

Jeff Legwold at ESPN.com’s NFL Nation has a feature on Schmitz, his road to the NFL, and where the team envisions him.

Nothing New on the Demaryius Thomas Front…

Oh well…
