Three exclusive free agents are coming back to Broncos Country.

The Denver Broncos have announced that they have extended contract offers to Paul Cornick, Ben Garland, and Brandon Marshall on Friday. This is great news for the Broncos as they start building towards a team that can compete for a Super Bowl this season. The team was able to address the offensive linemen and linebacker situation with these contract offers.

Brandon Marshall, the linebacker not wide out, had a very successful 2014 campaign. He recorded 113 tackles, 88 of which were on his own in just 13 games. Despite his limited appearances in the last year-plus with the Broncos, he has become one of the most reliable options for the team. In fact, most project him to compete for a starting job in the new defense that Wade Phillips has in store for the team. I was lobbying for the team to re-sign him but the fact that he is returning makes me and I’m sure a lot of Broncos country happy.

Paul Cornick saw limited action during the 2014 season. However, when he was on the field there was a vast improvement on the running game. He was lined up as an extra tight end for a couple games and he showed that he is an excellent run blocker, which will be very helpful in Gary Kubiak’s new offensive system.

And how could we all forget about Ben Garland. He was drafted by the Broncos, but had to serve two years in the Air Force to complete his services. He adds another option for the Broncos on the offensive line that is looking to get better, especially after the Broncos and Peyton Manning agreed to a reduced salary for 2015.

The three exclusive rights free agents look to help the Broncos make another run at a championship. With the window closing in on the team, the time is now. And bringing back Brandon Marshall, Paul Cornick, and Ben Garland will certainly help the Broncos.
