What in the world happened to Ronnie Hillman and Kayvon Webster in Dallas?

It was reported by the Denver Post after the Broncos’ blowout win over the Cowboys that Hillman and Webster were both hospitalized, but nothing was serious. Nobody knows the reason why they were hospitalized, but questions have legitimately risen as to the nature of their presence at the hospital. It’s apparently more than just a quick trip to the ER.

It would be stupid to try and speculate reasons why those guys were in the hospital that night, but it’s completely rational to wonder why both players are suddenly in the ‘doghouse’ per a report from our friend Brandon Spano.

In fact, as per Spano’s report, there’s no speculating to be done. Hillman and Webster are both straight up being demoted, and he’s confirmed that with one of the Broncos’ players.

It’s up in the air right now whether Hillman will be the number three back behind Montee Ball and C.J. Anderson or if he’ll be deactivated and replaced on the active gameday roster by Juwan Thompson. For Webster, it sounds like he’s been demoted to the number four cornerback spot after a really strong training camp behind rookie first round pick Bradley Roby.

What the heck did these guys do in Dallas to get themselves on such a short leash?

This isn’t the first incident regarding Hillman and a sort of under the table partying deal that I’ve heard about. There were rumors swirling on the week of the Super Bowl that Hillman immediately went to the New York strip clubs and was living it up, not focusing on the humongous task at hand.

Players are going to go out and party, we all understand that. But the fact that some guys are taking it to this “turn down for what” level is a bit ridiculous. Did Hillman and Webster need to go to the hospital to get stitches for getting in a fight? Did they have to have their stomachs pumped for too much alcohol? Like I said, there’s no reason to even speculate because we’ll never know, but what we can assume based on their demotions is the fact that they will play a less significant role on Sunday that originally anticipated.

The Broncos’ current depth chart does not reflect these changes, but when they release gameday inactives tomorrow afternoon, don’t be surprised to at least see Hillman’s name on there.

What in the world did these guys do? It wasn’t bad enough to get cut, but it was bad enough that they lost their jobs to rookies. Both Hillman and Webster are former third round picks for the Broncos.
